Crown prince attends birthday ceremonies

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal
Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman, attended a high tea reception yesterday in conjunction with His Royal Highness’ 48th birthday celebration hosted by the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) at Bolkiah Garrison Officers’ Mess.

Accompanying Their Royal Highnesses were His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah binti Pengiran Haji Bolkiah; and His Royal Highness 920 Major (U) Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.

Upon arrival at the Officers’ Mess, Their Royal Highnesses were greeted by Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja (Rtd) Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof; and RBAF Commander Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat.

During the reception, Their Royal Highnesses joined a group photo session and were introduced to RBAF personnel embedded under the Malaysian Battalion 850-8 (MALBATT 850-8) for the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL); the recipient of the RBAF Commendation Award from the 11th RBAF Command and Staff Course 2021; and newly commissioned officers who received awards of excellence during the recent Sovereign’s Parade Ceremony for the 20th intake of the RBAF Officer Cadet School.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince then watched a video clip and was presented with a photobook album titled ‘Sejambak Ristaan XV’ – a collection of images documenting His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s involvement in the MinDef and RBAF from 2019 until 2022.

This was followed with the signing of a commemorative parchment, a cake-cutting ceremony and a pesambah from RBAF personnel. To bless the ceremony, a recitation of Doa Kesyukuran was led by Assistant Director of RBAF Religious Directorate Major Ariffin bin Amit @ Hamid.

His Royal Highness also attended a ceremony hosted by Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) at the PMO building.

Also in attendance was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik.

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah was greeted by Special Adviser to His Majesty and Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Bakti Di Raja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa bin Pehin Datu Perdana Manteri Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Ibrahim; Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud and and Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince then joined a group photo session before proceeding to the Pesambah Gallery in the East Wing.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Doa Selamat led by Deputy State Mufti Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Japar bin Haji Mat Dain @ Maidin.

The celebration was further enlivened with a cake-cutting ceremony. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince also received a greeting card from the Prime Minister’s Office and pesambah from 12 agencies comprising government agencies, higher education institutions and the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association.

Also present at the event were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, the Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara; special guests; and permanent secretaries and deputy permanent secretaries at the PMO, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, and Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications.
