The Prisons Department recently held an outreach programme to strengthen support and cooperation of the community in crime prevention.
The programme at Mukim Sengkurong Community Hall caters to family members of inmates with focus on sharing experiences of rehabilitation and integration of former inmates back into society.
It was hoped that the programme would foster cooperation with the community and their part in crime prevention.
Acting Permanent Secretary (Safety and Welfare) at the Ministry of Home Affairs Nor Hamidah binti Haji Hamidon as well as grassroots leaders were present at the event. – James Kon
