Brunei Darussalam continued its streak of decreasing number of new COVID-19 cases in the past weeks whereby the average daily rate of cases last week was at 122 cases per day as compared to 143 cases per day in the previous week, said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar during a press conference yesterday.

A total of 34,020 antigen rapid test (ART) results were uploaded to the BruHealth application in the past week of which 2.5 per cent were positive.

The minister shared that a total of 111 new cases have been reported yesterday, of which 109 cases are the result of ART tests and two from RT-PCR laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours.

“There are no cases in Category 4 and Category 5 requiring treatment in the intensive care unit, respiratory assistance or under close supervision,” he added.

As of January 29, the vaccination rate in Brunei Darussalam remained at a high level of 79 per cent having received three doses of the vaccine and 11.8 per cent on four doses.
