Corpse management course begins

A four-week programme focusing on corpse management in Islam was launched yesterday.

The programme, which aims at addressing the demand for penggapai through the teaching of local Muslim youth the necessary knowledge and skills, had its opening ceremony at Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah.

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim officiated the launch.

The training course is conducted across a number of mosques in the Brunei-Muara District.

Around 22 youth enrolled in the Khidmat Terakhirku programme are participating in the course. Ten trainers, comprising MoRA officials and penggapai, are conducting the course, along with assistance from members from mosque takmir committees and student volunteers from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali.

The course is organised by Ar-Razaq Kifayah Management and Mosque Affairs Department, with Insurance Islam TAIB Family Takaful Sdn Bhd as the main sponsor. – Lyna Mohamad
