Cooked with care, delivered with love

In the spirit of Ramadan, Teabox Brunei, in collaboration with The IMPIAN Project, organised the Sungkai Meals Prep initiative — a heartfelt effort that delivered specially prepared iftar meals to 15 special needs families across Brunei Darussalam.

The initiative, which took place at Teabox Brunei’s premises in Gadong, was driven by a shared commitment to spreading compassion and ensuring that families with additional needs could enjoy warm, nourishing meals to break their fast.

Volunteers gathered over two days to bring the project to life. Meal preparation began on March 28, with volunteers sorting dry ingredients, followed by a full day of cooking and packaging on March 29. The initiative culminated in the delivery of meal sets, each designed to feed a family of five to six.

Each meal package featured a generous spread of white rice, masala chicken, masala croquettes, pickled vegetables, prawn crackers, Teabox’s signature agar-agar dessert, and a selection of beverages — thoughtfully crafted to provide both comfort and nutrition.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to giving back to the community, particularly to families with members who live with special needs and may face added challenges during the fasting month,” said a representative from Teabox Brunei. “We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of The IMPIAN Project and the many volunteers who gave their time and energy to make this effort possible.”

The IMPIAN Project, known for its advocacy and support for the special needs community, played a vital role in identifying recipient families and coordinating outreach.

“Ramadhan is a time of compassion and togetherness, and we are honoured to be part of this meaningful collaboration with Teabox Brunei,” said Lailatul Zubaidah Hussain, Founder and President of The IMPIAN Project. “Acts of kindness like this remind us of the power of community and the importance of inclusion.”

The initiative not only offered physical nourishment but also served as a reminder of the true essence of Ramadan — sharing, empathy, and unity. Through efforts like this, Teabox Brunei and The IMPIAN Project continue to inspire others to uplift one another, especially those navigating life with additional needs. – Fadley Faisal
