KUANTAN (Bernama) — A female participant in the “2,000 Selekoh Malaysia” convoy died in an accident after the motorcycle she was riding collided with a lorry at KM 17 Jalan Bera-Mayam, Bera, on Tuesday.
District Police Chief of Bera, Supt Zulkiflee Nazir, said the incident occurred around 11 a.m. and the Brunei national, Ili Aiman Abd Rahman, 38, passed away at 12:30 p.m. while receiving treatment at Bera Hospital.
He said the accident occurred while the victim was participating in a convoy with 25 other Bruneian participants traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Tasik Bera before returning to the capital.
“Initial investigations revealed that the accident happened while the victim was riding a Honda Rebel 500 motorcycle from Kerayong town heading towards Mayam.

“When she reached the scene while navigating a bend, the motorcycle is believed to have lost control, veered into the opposite lane, and collided with a lorry,” he said in a statement today.
Zulkiflee added that the lorry driver and his assistant, both aged 28 and 40, sustained minor injuries and were treated as outpatients.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
