Converts learn the ropes in Islamic guidance scheme

The Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI), through the Muallaf Development Division (Tarbiyyah Muallaf) and the Da’wah Unit, is organising the 14-day basic converts guidance programme series 199 for male and series 200 for females, nationwide from October 8-23, except on Sundays.

Some 156 participants attended the programme, 48 from the Brunei-Muara District, 36 each from Belait, Temburong and Tutong districts.

The programme is held at the Darul Huda Building in the Brunei-Muara District, while in the Tutong District, it will be held at Tutong District Dakwah Unit for female converts and at Pengiran Anak Puteri Norain Religious School for the male converts. Belait and Temburong converts will attend classes at the Da’wah Units in its districts.

Participants are exposed to the basic fardhu ‘ain and fardhu kifayah knowledge, tauhid, fiqh, prayers practicals, Islamic history, food in Islam, Islamic mindset, hygiene and management of deceased.

The scheme’s objective is to guide converts in refining and increasing their Islamic religious knowledge particularly in the field of aqidah, faith and mind.

PDI also provided several guidance programmes for converts – Introduction to Islam, Basic Guidance Scheme (Malay and English), Advance I and Advance II Guidance Scheme and Converts Guidance Class, conducted nationwide. – Lyna Mohamad
