The Muallaf Development Divisions (Tarbiyah Muallaf) of the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) held a Tarbiyah Muallaf programme: ‘The Benefit of Sacrificial Ritual’ to provide exposure for Muallaf to understand benefits and privileges of major Islamic major celebrations yesterday.
The programme at PDI Conference Hall was attended by Legislative Council (LegCo) member and Village Head of Kampong Subok Yang Berhormat Lawi bin Haji Lamat.
PDI Acting Assistant Director Haji Ahmad Abdussalam bin Haji Abdul Rahman, as the Chairman of the organising committee said Muallaf Guidance classes held since 1995, serve as a platform for Muslim converts to acquire knowledge about Islam, Al-Quran recitation, Fardhu Ain and Fardhu Kifayah.
The guidance classes are different from other guidance schemes provided for Muallaf, of which the classes offer life long learning.
He added that the classes are carried out nationwide with 17 Muallaf Guidance Classes facilitated nationwide.
PDI plans to provide online classes for Muslim converts among the youth unable to attend classes physically, he said.
In addition, the programme on Ibadah Korban encourages Muallaf to learn and understand about the ritual and hoped they will benefit from the knowledge gained through the lectures.
The ceremony continued with a religious lecture delivered by Muallaf Guidance Class trainer and accredited Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) Da’ie Mohammad Khairul Muaz bin Sibodaud. The programme was also conducted via hybrid – face-to-face and online through social media platforms.
