The Consumer Fair (CF), Brunei’s largest product and trade show, opened at the International Convention Centre for its 26th edition yesterday, after a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The fair, organised by D’Sunlit Sdn Bhd and runs until January 15, offers a wide variety of promotional deals and activities from local enterprises.

Permanent Secretary (Sports) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, and D’Sunlit Advisor Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman bin Pengiran Haji Damit officiated yesterday’s launching ceremony.

Managing Director of D’Sunlit Jackson Ting, Executive Director of D’Sunlit Dato Paduka Haji Danial bin Haji Hanafiah and representatives from the government, embassies, companies and exhibitors were also present.

“The theme for the 26th Consumer Fair is ‘Celebrating Love’,” said Dato Paduka Haji Danial.

“Love is an important part of everybody’s life and it is all present in this event in the great deals on offer among the wide variety of products and services available,” he added.

At the CF, mascots Babah, Babu, Boboi, and Alai return to showcase promotions and activities.

The mascots portray a family exploring the fair, looking for deals and events.

The ‘Rush Hour’ promotions from vendors have also returned, with limited time offers available from Wednesday to Saturday, 2pm to 4pm.

Rush hour deals also take place on Sunday, starting from 7pm, “when everything must go”.

And as an event capstone, the Consumer Fair Grand Lucky Draw is also taking place, with a Grand Lucky Draw Prize of a new Toyota Wigo, sponsored by NBT Brunei Sdn Bhd.

Entry into the lucky draw can be made with any purchase from participating vendors at the event.

Since its debut in 2008, the CF has aimed to provide a platform to promote local small and medium enterprises and showcase a range of products and services directly to consumers.

The CF continues to grow steadily with an increase in the number of exhibitors and visitors every year.

Opening hours are from 10am to 10pm, except Friday when it is closed from noon to 2pm.
