COVID-19 positive individuals who fail to report themselves will face serious consequences, Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar said at the press conference yesterday.
“No cases have been reported so far,” the minister said, before urging the public to lodge police reports on individuals who commit such “criminal acts”.
Should investigations confirm the act was indeed carried out, the individuals will be arraigned in court to face charges under the Infectious Diseases Act, which carries heavier consequences than a mere case of breaking a red code health protocol.
