Congress aims to ignite innovation, collaboration for a better future

Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) will host the inaugural UTB-Science, Technology and Engineering Connect (UTB-STE Connect) 2023, in collaboration with Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), and Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), from October 23 to 25.

Themed, ‘Research and Application for a Better World’, the congress will be held at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas and The Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong.

It is organised in honour of His Royal Highness Prince (Dr) Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Pro-Chancellor of UTB being conferred the Honorary Doctorate in Technology Innovation.

His Royal Highness is expected to officially launch the congress at the opening ceremony.

The biennial congress aspires to bring together luminaries from academia, science, research, engineering, industry, and stakeholders to discuss and exchange ideas to create a brighter future together in their respective fields.

UTB-STE Connect 2023 features a diverse programme structured around five conferences with topics ranging from engineering and computing to business and agrotechnology.

The 11th Asia Technological University Network (ATU-Net) Board Meeting; the 2nd UTB University Presidents’ Forum and the 1st UTB Women Leadership Forum will be among the featured events during the three-day congress. UTB-STE Connect 2023 is a testament to UTB’s commitment to fostering innovation, advancing knowledge dissemination, and promoting global collaboration. The congress also provides an unparalleled opportunity for thought leaders and change-makers to come together and shape the future through the fields of Science, Technology, and Engineering.
