Reading Al-Quran is a practice and a divine vaccine to curb the COVID-19 pandemic, said mosque officer at Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Mentiri Pengiran Mohd Sallehin bin Pengiran Haji Tejuddin yesterday.

Speaking at the Khatam Al-Quran, he said, although Al-Quran reading had to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs), stipulated by the Ministry of Health (MoH), “Al-Quran readers were able to complete 30 Juzuks”.

Pengiran Mohd Sallehin said, “The blessings from reading Al-Quran serve as a shield against the pandemic, and we pray to Allah the Almighty that the nation will be spared from the calamity.”

Thirteen congregants from the mosque completed the recitation conducted daily after the Subuh prayer.

Meanwhile, a similar Khatam Al-Quran ceremony was held by Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque congregants.

Adviser of the mosque committee Haji Mohiddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and the mosque committee‘s Secretary Haji Zaini bin Awang Damit attended.
