A workshop on tayammum (purification for prayer using soil, purified sand, or dust due to absence of water) and how to perform prayers for the ill was held at Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque yesterday.
Organised by Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque committee members, the workshop was attended by over 170 members of the public and mosque congregants.
The speakers were religious officers from Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital Ahmad Syuja’iee bin Begawan Mudim Haji Matassim, Haji Mohd Emmarul bin Haji Azamain, Dayangku Nurajaimah binti Pengiran Ajak and Sintan binti Haji Nordin.
They highlighted the meaning and laws of wudhu and tayammum, and ways to perform prayers for the ill while sitting, laying down or through the heart.
The workshop was among the initiatives to make the mosque a centre of knowledge. – Azlan Othman
