    Company slapped with BND2K fine

    A local company was slapped with a BND2,000 fine by the Licensing and Enforcement Division of the Tutong District Office for the violation of Section 12(1)(a) Chapter 30 of the Miscellaneous Offences Act 2021.

    The company was given seven days to settle the fine. Failure to do so will see the case brought to court and if found guilty, the company may be fined between BND2,000 and BND10,000.

    For the second or subsequent offence, the company could face between BND10,000 and BND30,000 fine, imprisonment of no more than 12 months, or both. The enforcement unit under the Licensing and Enforcement Division of the Tutong District Office reminded the public, companies and owners of businesses premises to maintain cleanliness of the surrounding environment especially in commercial premises and public areas. – James Kon
