The Enforcement Division of the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board issued a BND500 fine to a local company for disposing and piling up unwanted stones and dirt in a public space at Simpang 109, Jalan Maulana, Kuala Belait on February 7.
The fine was issued under Chapter 30, Section 12(1)(d) of the Minor Offences Act. The company was given seven days to settle the fine. Failure to do so will result in the case being forwarded to the court.
If found guilty, the accused will be handed a further BND1,000 fine or a month’s imprisonment, while subsequent offences will see a penalty of BND3,000 fine or imprisonment of no more than three months.
