A company in Kampong Lubok Pulau, Tutong District was slapped with a BND200 compound fine by the Tutong District Office for violating the Miscellaneous Offences Act (Amendment) 2021 for disposing rubbish in public areas. The company is required to settle the compound fine within seven days. Failure to do so will result in the matter being brought to court.
If found guilty, the offender can face a fine of between BND2,000 and BND10,000 for the first offence.
For subsequent offences, the offender may face a fine of between BND10,000 and BND30,000, imprisonment not exceeding than 12 months, or both.
