The Enforcement Division of the Belait District Office recently issued a compound fine of BND1,000 to a local company for littering in a public area.
Authorities found that dirt along with disposed plastic had spilled over from a construction site onto a nearby public road.
The compound fine was issued under Section 12(1)(d), Chapter 30 of the Miscellaneous Offences Act.
The company was given seven days to settle the fine, and failure to do so will result in the case being brought to court.
