Companies host Raya celebrations

Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (Perbadanan TAIB) Group of Companies, comprising Perbadanan TAIB, Insurans Islam TAIB Holdings Sdn Bhd (IITHSB) and Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd (DHSB), hosted a Hari Raya celebration for over 1,200 guests at the Serambi Suluh Hall, Tarindak D’Seni recently.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Perbadanan TAIB; Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar; Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid and Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad were among the attendees.

Also present were members of the Board of Directors of Perbadanan TAIB and its subsidiaries, as well as members of the Syariah Advisory committees and guests including senior government officials, clients and partners corporate and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The top management of the group of companies, including Managing Director of Perbadanan TAIB Datin Hajah Hasnah binti Haji Ibrahim, Managing Director of DHSB Haji Mahmud bin Haji Mohamed and Acting Managing Director of IITHSB Haji Hassan bin Haji Harris welcomed the guests.

The afternoon session was exclusively for staff of Perbadanan TAIB Group of Companies to come together and celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri. The session was filled with activities that promoted teamwork and strengthened the bonds between colleagues.

Meanwhile, Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad (Brunei LNG) hosted a Raya open house for stakeholders and the wider community in Liang Lumut, at the Liang Lumut Recreational Club (LLRC) yesterday.

 

Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi was welcomed by Brunei LNG Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Hajah Farida binti Dato Seri Paduka Haji Talib and Brunei LNG leadership team.

As the first Raya event that Brunei LNG organised since the pandemic, the celebration was adorned with traditional decorations in line with the theme ‘Retro Raya’, aimed to hearken back to the yesteryears, with attendees enjoying vibrant colours and scenery as well as dishes served at booths.

Meanwhile, the wider community in Lumut Liang attended the event in the afternoon.

Throughout the day, performances, games and activities such as Simban and congkak were conducted to enliven the festivities.

Also present were Acting Belait District Officer Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad, penghulu and village heads from Belait and Tutong districts, stakeholders, and government officials.

Former members of Radio Television Brunei (RTB) also held a Hari Raya celebration at the Mulia Hotel in Berakas yesterday.

Among those present was former RTB director Haji Osman bin Haji Mohammad. The event also gathered radio personalities from the 60s and 90s eras as well as former management and broadcasters.

Celebrants also marked the start of Brunei Radio Services 66 years ago on May 2, 1957, which was a platform for news, education and entertainment fronted by locals as deejays and those behind the scenes.

The event also saw former colleagues who had not met for decades reminiscing about the good old days. Attendees also recited prayers for their colleagues who had passed on.

Meanwhile, Concepts Computer hosted a festive luncheon for its staff and local media yesterday.

Concepts Computer General Manager Vincent Pao and Financial Controller Alice Chan welcomed staff and invited guests.

The event was aimed at fostering closer ties among the staff during the Raya festivities.
