The Tutong District Office Enforcement Unit recently issued compound fines on two companies for violating Chapter 30 of the Miscellaneous Offences Act (Amendment) 2021 at project sites.
Both companies were slapped with BND1,000 compound fines each.
The offenders were given seven days to settle the fine. The failure to do so will result in the case being brought to court.
If found guilty, they will face a fine between BND2,000 and BND10,000 for the first offence, and between BND10,000 and BND30,000, imprisonment of up to 12 months, or both, for subsequent offences.
The agency reminded the public, especially companies and owners of commercial premises, to maintain the cleanliness of their surroundings and project sites and not to dispose rubbish in public areas. – James Kon
