Over the past few months, quite a large number of litterbugs have been caught red-handed and fined for discarding rubbish in public spaces. Many have given their nods of approval to the authorities’ initiative to punish these offenders.
However, the current punishment may not be sufficient to deter these litterbugs from changing their ways.
I believe the better approach is to make community service mandatory for these irresponsible individuals and make them spend at least 100 hours picking up trash in public areas.
