    Community leaders key to enhancing workplace safety

    Mukim penghulus and village heads play a key role in making Brunei Darussalam a safe place to live and work. They are seen as effective influencers in guiding and protecting their communities, said Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA) Director of Strategic Planning Division Salmaya Rahayu binti Salleh at a muzakarah session with Mukim Penghulus and village heads from Tutong and Belait districts yesterday.

    She added, their involvement helps influence their communities to adopt a safety culture and comply with workplace safety laws.

    She also highlighted the company’s ongoing collaboration with government and private sectors to enhance workplace safety.

    Legislative Council members, and SHENA Chief Executive Officer Haji Muhsin bin Haji Ahmad were present alongside Acting Tutong District Officer Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri and Acting Belait District Officer Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad.

    The session was organised by SHENA in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs to enhance workplace safety and health nationwide.

    The muzakarah highlighted the whole-of-nation approach to Brunei Vision 2035, emphasising collaboration for safety, health and environmental goals. – James Kon
