    Community, law enforcement unite in neighbourhood watch course

    The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) held a certificate presentation ceremony for the completion of the basic effective neighbourhood watch course session 3/2025 recently.

    The two-day course at the hall of the district office, attracted 32 participants comprising penghulus and village heads, staff from the private sector and members of the public registered under the neighbourhood watch programme in the jurisdiction of Kuala Belait Police District.

    Acting Assistant Commanding officer of the Kuala Belait Police District Deputy Superintendent of Police Hajah Nur Haidah binti Haji Abdul Halim presented certificates to the participants.

    Officers and personnel from the Kuala Belait Police District and the RBPF Public Relation Unit as the Secretariat of the RBPF neighbourhood watch programme and facilitator of the course were present.

    During the course, the participants were briefed by RBPF officers from various departments as well as enforcement agencies including the Attorney General’s Chamber, Syariah Department, the Narcotics Control Bureau, the Royal Customs and Excise Department, as well as the Safety and Welfare Division at the Ministry of Home Affairs. The course aimed to increase understanding on the aspects of law enforcement in line with the role of neighbourhood watch members, while also fostering closer ties between the RBPF and the community. – James Kon
