Communication between teachers, students important, says principal

Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam (SMJA) Secondary School Principal Hajah Norhashimah binti Haji Burut highlighted the importance of communication between students and teachers, especially vital during the COVID-19 pandemic in adapting to remote learning.

She made these comments when 83 students of SMJA Secondary School were feted at a graduation ceremony at the main hall of Raja Isteri Girls High School. Hajah Norhashimah said that the students’ success is the result of the hard work and dedication of both the students and teachers.

She also stressed on the importance of time management and the introduction of active learning techniques to spur the learning process.

The event also saw 27 outstanding students receive Excellent Student Award, while eight with Excellent A Award and 24 with the Green Zone Encouragement Award.

Special awards were also presented to 16 teachers.

Acting Assistant Director of the Department of Schools Pengiran Ali Shafie bin Pengiran Haji Abas was the guest of honour.
