Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) will issue gold, silver and cupronickel commemorative coins in conjunction with Brunei Darussalam’s 40th National Day celebration. The commemorative coins are of legal tender in Brunei.
The gold coin comes in the face value of BND400 with its composition of 999.9 gold, weighing 31.10 grammes (g) and measuring 32.12 millimetres (mm) in diameter. The selling price is BND4,000.
The silver coin face value comes in BND40 with its composition of 999 silver, weighing 31.10g and measuring 40.70mm in diameter with a selling price of BND250.
Meanwhile for the cupronickel coins, the face value comes in BND4 weighing 28.00g, measuring 40.70mm in diameter with a selling price of BND100. The coins are quality proof. The commemorative coins will be available for sale from February 27. Those interested in purchasing the commemorative coins can visit the BDCB Currency Gallery and Gift Shop at Level 1, BDCB building, Ministry of Finance and Economy, Commonwealth Drive.
The opening hours are from Monday to Thursday, starting February 27 from 8.30am to 11.30am and 2pm to 4.30pm, while on Friday from 8.30am to 11am. – Rokiah Mahmud
