Commander of US Special Operations Command Pacific (SOCPAC) Rear Admiral Jeromy Williams, arrived in Brunei Monday as part of ongoing efforts to reinforce the US-Brunei strategic partnership and deepen defense and security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, according to the US Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan.
During his visit, Rear Admiral Williams is meeting with senior Bruneian defence officials, engaging with the US Embassy, and holding discussions with United Kingdom Garrison counterparts.
His engagements reflect the United States’ enduring commitment to regional stability, interoperability with partners, and shared interests in safeguarding sovereignty and freedom of navigation, the US Embassy stated in a press release.
“Brunei is a vital partner in ensuring a secure, resilient Indo-Pacific. Our longstanding military cooperation underscores the trust and shared purpose that define our strategic partnership,” said Rear Admiral Williams.

The US and Brunei have shared strong ties since 1850, rooted in mutual respect and common goals — from prosperity through economic diversification to building capacity through military education and exchange programs.
Rear Admiral Williams, a career Navy SEAL and distinguished graduate of the U.S. Naval War College, brings decades of strategic and operational expertise to his role as Commander of SOCPAC, a command at the forefront of the United States’ Indo-Pacific engagement.
