Colouring contest draws 80 children at Chinese cultural fair

Some 80 children took part in a colouring contest organised by First Group in conjunction with the launch of the 2025 Taichung City Premium Ponkan Agricultural Product Fair at Warisan Utama Jaya Emporium and Supermarket.

The prizes were presented by Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Brunei Darussalam Vanessa Shih Yea-Ping together with Hsuan Tung Wu from the Agriculture Bureau of Taichung City Government, Managing Director of First Group Lim Kian Seng and other officials.

During the launch, Vanessa Shih highlighted in her speech that Taichung is blessed with a perfect climate and fertile ground for growing quality fruits. These juicy treasures from Fengyuan District make up 14 per cent of Taichung’s total ponkan volume and are harvested from November to February.

She thanked First Group for their continuous support in bringing the fruits to Brunei and urged Bruneians to visit Taiwan, where all Brunei citizens as well as permanent residents are granted visa-free entry for two weeks.

The colourful event also featured a performance of Chinese drum and dance by students from Chung Hua Middle School Kuala Belait. – James Kon
