College joins religious conference in Indonesia

Six officers from the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) attended the 14th International Islamic Borneo Conference (KAIB 14) in Samarinda, Indonesia, on September 6 and 7.

The delegation comprised KUPU SB Ra’es Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar, who delivered a keynote speech; research officer Mohammad Muslihuddin Syah bin Haji Mustafa; Director of Fiqh Al-Usrah Research Centre Dr Haji Sham bin Haji Amin; Dean of Students’ Affairs Section Dr Haji Mohammad Shahrol Azmi bin Haji Abdul Muluk; Director of Centre for Research and Understanding of Ahli Sunnah Wal Jama’ah Haji Mohd Azmi bin Haji Omar; and Director of Jawi Studies and Kitab Turath Research Centre Azman bin Haji Kassim.

The delegation also presented their paper at the conference.

The conference serves as a medium of discussion on the contribution and importance of Islamic institutions in shaping society and the young generation with knowledge, progress and professionalism.

It includes matters related to education, halal, waqaf (endowment) and mosque institutions; management and business; economy and finance; socio-culture and civilisation; agriculture and farming; industries and digital technology; Internet of Things; religion and local intelligence; dakwah and communication and other issues related to Islam in Borneo Island. – Rokiah Mahmud
