College fetes exemplary students

Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College (MDPMAMB) recorded remarkable ‘A’ Level results last year.

Some 67.3 per cent of the college’s exam candidates scored three ‘A’ Levels compared to the national average of 65.3 per cent while 86.2 per cent of them has two ‘A’ Levels and above compared to national average of 81.8 per cent. Some 96.3 per cent scored one ‘A’ Level and above compared to national average of 92.7 per cent.

Principal Dayangku Hajah Nooramaliatifah binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad revealed the results in a speech at an academic award ceremony yesterday.

Director of the Co-curriculum Education Department at the Ministry of Education (MoE) Julaihi bin Haji Mohamad/ Mohamat presented certificates and awards to the students.

Seventeen students were honoured with outstanding achievement award with Kam Yi Jie, Matthew Abel Robles Filio, Magdalene Teo Shi Jin, Abdul Hakamul Adly bin Samsudin and Shivani Santosh among top achievers with four ‘A’ Levels.

Twelve students received special mention award in ‘A’ Level subjects and one student received top achievement for hostelite.

Eleven students received top award for ‘AS’ Level and 18 students obtained special mention award in ‘AS’ Level subjects.

Officials from the MoE, representatives from Insurans Islam TAIB Holdings Sdn Bhd, parent-teacher association members, parents, students and lecturers were present. – James Kon
