Coastal clean-up sees collection of 67 bags of trash

A total of 67 bags of trash weighing over 418 kilogrammes were collected during a coastal clean-up at Jalan Pengasing Beach in the Tutong District on Friday.

Organised by Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd through the BLNGolden Hearts and Brunei LNG Eco Eagles in collaboration with Green Brunei, the event drew the participation of over 100 volunteers participating.

Students from Sixth Form CentreTutong and Youth of Kampong Sengkarai also joined the environmental conservation effort.

The campaign was led by Brunei LNG’s Growth and Strategy Manager, Mohd Suwarso Mudjono and member of the Legislative Council, with Kampong Sengkarai Village Head Yang Berhormat Awang Abdul Aziz bin Haji Hamdan as the guest of honour.

“Today, we have come together to make positive changes in our society and environment.

“By participating in this beach clean-up campaign, we can remove harmful debris from our beaches and prevent them from entering our oceans.

“We also hope to create awareness on the importance of preserving and protecting the world’s oceans and waterways,” Mohd SuwarsoMudjono said.

Meanwhile, 217 students from St Andrews School collected 474.95kg of garbage during a cleaning campaign at Muara Beach.

Principal Madam Tan Lian Lian led the initiative along with the teachers.
