Cluster 5 emerged winners of the 33rd Teacher’s Day Netball Championship Finals at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas yesterday.
IPT finished runners-up while Cluster 2 settled for third place.
Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education (MoE) Dr Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin presented the prizes.
A total of 16 teams divided into four groups participated this year.
The competition aimed to foster closer ties among the MoE and the Ministry of Religious Affairs community as well as encourage active lifestyle through sport.
The tournament, organised by the MoE through the Co-curriculum Education Department with the cooperation of the Brunei Netball Association, is one of the sports and recreation activities to enliven the 33rd Teacher’s Day celebration, which is themed ‘Guru Berkualiti Pemacu Transformasi Pendidikan’ this year. – Fadhil Yunus
