Cloud infrastructure is key for governments to achieve smart nation aspirations. This was discussed by Oracle Corporation Senior Director for ASEAN Technology Solutions Derek Lam during a talk titled ‘Data Harmonisation’ as part of Digital Future Conference at The Empire Brunei.
He said Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) users have access to fully automated infrastructure with high reliability and availability. Other benefits include updates being applied using patches with zero database downtime and disaster recovery feature.
Lam said with OCI, governments can focus on insights and innovation. He added that the company can help authorities modernise apps and infrastructures without ‘an army’ of consultants.
The presentation also highlighted Oracle’s role in enabling Oman’s next-generation intelligent platform. He said with Dedicated Region Cloud Customer (DRCC) services, Oman’s data centres have access to Oracle’s cloud services including autonomous database.
