A cleaning campaign was held yesterday, ahead of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 77th birthday celebration.
The monarch traditionally holds meet-and-greets with residents of each of the four districts as part of the celebration.
The cleaning campaign, led by Belait District Baden Powell (BP) Guild and supported by the Pertiwi Association and the Adult in Belait District Scouts Association, picked up rubbish along the sides of Jalan Maulana in Kuala Belait.
Belait District BP Guild committee chairman Beelie bin Tengah said, “We want to create a festive and clean environment for the royal celebration.” – Daniel Lim
