Civil Service Day fetes innovative awardees

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam presented the Premier Innovation Award (AIP) 2024 to the winners during the 31st Civil Service Day celebration at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas yesterday.

Some 13 project papers were submitted and assessed by the AIP panel of judges, who focused on project selection, implementation mechanisms, results, impact, challenges faced and future plans.

The panel concluded that no project was eligible for the Gold Award this year. However, the Silver Award was granted to two groups: Hemaheroes, for their project ‘Implementation of Bloodkad Mobile Application Through Public-Private Partnership’ from the Department of Laboratory Services at the Ministry of Health; and MUSAEADAT JPPK from the Directorate of Development and Work Services at the Ministry of Defence.

The Bronze Award went to NLMS group from the Labour Department at the Ministry of Home Affairs, for their project ‘National Labour Management System’.

All award recipients each received a grant, a trophy, and a certificate of appreciation.

Meanwhile, eight project papers from groups from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications received consolation prizes, with each team receiving a trophy and a certificate of appreciation.

The projects ranged from ‘Brunei Digital E-Arrival Card’ to ‘Poslaju Medicine: Revolusi Perkhidmatan Pos Kepada Orang Ramai’.

This year’s competition was open to ministries and government departments, allowing both individual and group participation, with a focus on key areas such as improving public service delivery through information technology, fostering innovation in public service, enhancing integrity, transparency, accountability, and responsiveness and streamlining public service processes to contribute to the ease of doing business. – Fadley Faisal
