Students and staff of Chung Hwa School Kiudang were treated to a lion dance performance on the third day of the Chinese New Year.
Principal Loo Shee Yun, the school’s board of governors, parents and local community were also present.
“The lion dance performances have become a part of a Chinese New Year culture that dates back centuries. Showcasing lion dance is a good way to promote cultural diversity within the local community,” said Loo Shee Yun.
“We thank the Unity Charity Association for the performance,” she added.
The performance concluded with a display of peeled mandarin oranges arranged into Chinese words by the dancing lions.
