BEIJING (XINHUA) – China’s garment industry continued its streak of expansion in the first 11 months of last year, reporting growth in production, revenue and profit, official data showed.
From January to November last year, the combined operating revenue of 12,659 major garment companies was over CNY1.33 trillion, up 7.7 per cent year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
Total profits of these companies rose 12.6 per cent year-on-year to hit CNY66.7 billion, with the combined output expanding 8.5 per cent year-on-year to 21.3 billion pieces.
In the January-November period, the country’s exports of garments and accessories surged 25.1 per cent to USD154.4 billion, the MIIT data showed.
