Vice President of China Han Zheng and delegation yesterday arrived in the Sultanate for a three-day official visit until tomorrow.
Upon arrival at the Brunei International Airport, the vice president was welcomed by Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid as the receiving minister.
Han Zheng is scheduled to have audiences with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The vice president is also expected to visit the Royal Regalia Museum, Brunei History Centre and the Muara Port Company Sdn Bhd.
Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Xiao Jianguo as well as permanent secretaries at the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also present at the airport.
According to Xinhua news agency, China looks forward to working with Brunei to carry forward traditional friendship, deepen and expand cooperation in various fields, bring the two countries closer, add new substances to strategic cooperative partnership, and inject more positive energy into peace, stability and prosperity in the region through the visit. – James Kon
