Children’s Cancer Foundation receives over BND22K

A total of BND22,700 were raised for the Children’s Cancer Foundation (YASKA) in the YASKA Hope in Motion, a Charity Obstacle Run that was illuminated by Hengyi held at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in the capital on Sunday.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar as the guest of honour joined over a thousand participants across three categories: the 5km Change Champion, the 2.5km Hope Bringer, and the enthusiastic cheer squad known as the Courage Crew. 

YASKA Advisor and chairperson of the organising committee Dr Hajah Norehan binti Haji Johari said, “Each year, an estimated 400,000 children develop cancer worldwide.”

She added that the survival rate for children with cancer “has risen to 80 per cent with improvements in treatment, quality of care and early diagnose”.

Several sponsors handed over donations during the ceremony.
