Childcare centres under the Community Development Department (JAPEM) of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) will resume operations at an 80-per-cent capacity for children aged three months and above.
The announcement was shared in a press release issued by JAPEM yesterday.
The re-operation of childcare centres begins with immediate effect adhering to guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) stated by the department. Childcare centres allowed by the department to operate are required to conduct antigen rapid test (ART) three-times a week – every Sunday, Tuesday and Friday.
The centre’s staff, parents and children are required to conduct the test at home. Group activities are allowed at the centres. In addition, owners of the centres must equip their premises with a HEPA filter.
Those with negative ART results are allowed to enter, while those with COVID-19 symptoms and at high-risk are not.
