Temburong Police Station personnel thwarted an attempt to smuggle raw chicken meat following a pursuit as a vehicle heading to Bangar caught the attention of the police on Thursday at 5am.
The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) stated that when trying to stop the vehicle, the driver attempted to escape leading police personnel to chase the vehicle. The suspect’s vehicle overturned near Kampong Gadong Baru junction where the officers detained a local.
Investigations revealed 17 boxes containing raw chicken meat, suspected to have been smuggled from a neighbouring country. The suspect underwent a health check at a hospital, while the confiscated items were handed over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department, the RBPF stated. – James Kon
