Three chefs were awarded the Meritorious Community Certificate on Wednesday by the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) through its Operation ‘A’ Branch.
Beribi Fire Station Operation ‘A’ Branch Officer-in-Charge Superintendent of Fire and Rescue Pengiran Haji Asmali bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad handed over the certificates.
The chefs from two restaurants extinguished a kitchen fire from another eatery in the same building in Gadong on January 14.
Their quick action in using a 2.5-kilogramme dry powder fire extinguisher kept the fire from spreading.
