Charity sale raises funds for the visually-impaired

The Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) organised a charity car boot sale at its office compound in Kampong Anggerek Desa on Sunday to raise funds to support the Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind (BDNAB) to produce braille textbooks for the visually-impaired community.

Some 20 vendors participated in the event comprising local vendors and AITI employees selling various foods, drinks, books, toys and clothes.

Physical donation boxes were also placed at various locations within the premise, where visitors were welcomed to donate to the association. Over BND1,700 were raised from the event, and the donation will be handed over to BDNAB.

This is the second charity car boot sale organised by AITI as one of AITI’s corporate social responsibility activities in providing assistance to the community and to cultivate empathy among AITI’s employees towards others, particularly those who are less fortunate.
