On Saturday, a day before the eve of Hari Raya Aidlifitri, representatives from the Chinese Enterprises Association in Brunei Darussalam (CEAB) travelled to the Temburong District to deliver donations to 15 impoverished families.
In a statement from the Bank of China Brunei Branch, 20 representatives handed over daily necessities and gifts purchased by the association to help the underprivileged villagers to celebrate in comfort.
The donations were based on the arrangements of the Community Development Department (JAPEM) and had the full support of the association members. In addition, General Manager of DCon Sdn Bhd Connie Lyu Qiuping also donated ART kits.
President of the CEAB and General Manager of Bank of China Brunei Branch Li Feng said the association was happy to be able to donate food and daily necessities and to help those in need, as poverty alleviation is the social responsibility of Chinese enterprises in the country.
The CEAB was established in 2016 and has approximately 40 members.
Chinese enterprises in the Sultanante have been working hard to give back to the Brunei society.
The association will continue to cooperate with the local communities to carry out charitable and public welfare activities.
Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Kampong Sibulu Haji Bahrun bin Haji Talib expressed his thanks to the association for the donation.
He said all impoverished families are in need of urgent help, and hoped the association will continue to provide support to those in need.
The CEAB and its members have always insisted on integrating into the country, taking root and participate in nation-building by cooperating with the government and community.
The association members hoped by contributing to the advancement of economic cooperation and cultural exchanges between China and Brunei Darussalam, it will deepen relations between the two countries.
