Fitness group Super Slim Fit Brunei and One Sip (The Café) organised a Hari Raya charity event in Kota Batu recently.
The charity fitness class was led by the fitness group’s principal Tan Sui Seng and volunteer trainers.
Tan said Super Slim Fit Brunei also provides free workouts for individuals with different abilities at Fitness Zone and Silver Jubilee Park in Kampong Kiulap, from 6pm to 7.30pm.
He said classes for the public are led by volunteer trainers offering different programmes and workouts. Tan highlighted yoga classes that focus on stretching therapy to manage body pain, stiffness in the neck, shoulders, spine and knees as well as help to overcome insomnia, obesity, cholesterol, blood pressure, sugar and uric acid.
Tan will personally lead workouts for individuals with different abilities and seniors on Tuesdays and Thursdays with stretching, and bone setting therapy for individuals with complaints such as having difficulty walking, squatting, body pain and insomnia.
The principal highlighted that some members, struck by stroke or with mild Alzheimer’s disease, experienced improvements in mobility after the training sessions. He said stretching stimulates blood circulation and the nervous system while boosting metabolism and realigning body posture.
Tan said the classes are conducted in three languages – English, Malay and Mandarin – and the group gives free lessons to government departments, associations. – James Kon
