The Kampong Lambak Youth Association (PERBEKAL) celebrated the new year 1446 Hijrah of the Islamic calendar with a charity event at Lambak Mosque in Berakas yesterday.
The group and Kampong Lambak ‘B’ Village Consultative Council (MPK) joined a cleaning campaign at the mosque. The event was highlighted with a presentation of donations to the mosque and 12 orphans.
The cleaning campaign began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by PERBEKAL Permanent Chair Haji Zakaria bin Haji Liman. It was followed by a speech by PERBEKAL President Pengiran Haji Nordin bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud as the guest of honour.
Some 60 people joined the cleaning campaign preceded by a warm-up session. There was also planting of saplings.
Later, imam Mohamad bin Haji Bago received a donation from the guest of honour. Twelve orphans also received donations.
Lifelong PERBEKAL Chairman and Kampong Lambak ‘B’ Village Head Pengiran Jofri bin Pengiran Haji Zaidi, Deputy President Pengiran Mahari bin Pengiran Haji Md Tahir, Vice President I Siti Seriana binti Haji Mohd Yusof and Vice President II Pengiran Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Haji Md Tahir and MPK Lambak ‘B’ Advisor Haji Md Zain bin Haji Md Salleh were present at the event. – Lyna Mohamad
