The 11th Jiwaku Ikhlas Charity Drive was held yesterday to mark the 43rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution and National Day of Iran, 28 years of diplomatic ties between Iran and Brunei Darussalam, and the Sultanate’s 38th National Day celebration.

The event was organised by the Iranian Embassy in Brunei Darussalam and Kris Karmila Kreations in collaboration with the Royal Brunei Malay Reserve Regiment (RBMRR).

Iranian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Homeira Rigi Zirouki in a speech expressed gratitude to RBMRR Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Muhd Suradzin bin Haji Muhd Yusof, Jiwaku Ikhlas Project Manager Kris Karmila and sponsors.

“This year, we decided not to hold a reception to mark our National Day due to the COVID-19 outbreak, for the well-being of the people. Instead, we opted for a charity event.

We pray to Allah the Almighty that with this good deed, the people of both nations will be protected from the worst of COVID-19.”

She added, “We gather here to help 32 families with differently abled children that are registered with Pusat Bahagia.”
