Charging towards a greener future

As the demand for electric vehicles (EVs) continues to surge, strategically placed chargers will serve as catalysts, accelerating the transition towards sustainable mobility, said QAF Auto Sdn Bhd General Manager Alisa Khoo during the launch of The Abode Resort and Spa in the Temburong District as the latest BMW destination charging partner yesterday.

She added, “The selection of the resort in the Temburong District exemplifies our commitment to accessibility and convenience, aligning seamlessly with our vision for a greener future.”

Organised by QAF Auto, the exclusive importer of BMW automobiles in the Sultanate and the resort, the launch commenced with ribbon-cutting by the guest of honour and The Abode Resort and Spa Director Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman bin Pengiran Haji Damit, along with QAF Brunei Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Albert Lau, Assistant Temburong District Officer Hassan Baha bin Haji Umar and The Abode Resort and Spa CEO Lim Wei Siu.

Meanwhile, The Abode Resort and Spa General Manager Richard Ting in his remark said, “The installation of the first electric charging station at The Abode Resort and Spa marked a significant milestone in our journey toward greener and more sustainable future.”

He added, “As we witness the convergence of automotive excellence and hospitality, we are not just unveiling a charging station; we are pioneering a new era of sustainable tourism and transportation in Brunei”.

The launch aligns with the commitment to being the first resort that operates on 100 per cent off-grid solar power and to attract environmentally conscious travellers, support sustainable tourism and contribute to Brunei’s efforts towards reducing carbon emissions. – James Kon
