More donations to the Brunei-Muara District Orphans Fund came pouring in with the Brunei Chinese Chamber of Commerce (CCC) coming forward to present its annual donation to the fund.
The presentation took place at the Brunei-Muara District Office, where on hand to received the fund was Acting Brunei-Muara District Officer Pengiran Muhammad Ameer Mubarak bin Pengiran Haji Hashim, while CCC was represented by its President Lim Han Chiong with a donation of BND1,000.
Lim then handed over his personal donation of BND5,000 followed by Deputy President Goh Kok Leong, Vice President Lee Eng Ching and Vice President Lo Wan Yee each donated BND1,000, while Vice Presidents Lim Tiong Han, Lim Ting Chai, Lim Mah Lik, Lim Ting Guan and Lim Sooi Tiong each donated BND500.
Also donating BND500 were Head of Commerce and Industry Lee Chung Keng; Head of General Affairs Goh Kok An; Head of Culture and Education Sng Teck An; Deputy Head of Commerce and Industry Lim Wee Ann; National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Brunei Darussalam Deputy Head Tan Chin Wan, Deputy Head of Welfare Law Tiong Kian, Assistant Secretary General Hong Kim Seng and committee member, Lim Kian Seng.
Meanwhile the association’s women council donated BND898 making the total donation yesterday BND16,398.
The association hoped that the donation will help lessen their burden in preparing for the Hari Raya celebration. – Lyna Mohamad
