Chainblock claims tug-of-war heavyweight title

Chain Block ‘A’ asserted their dominance in the local tug-of-war scene after winning the Tug-of-War Championship 2022 held in conjunction with the 76th birthday of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in the capital yesterday.

The defending champions, who previously triumphed in the competition in 2019, emerged victorious in heavyweight category (680kg total weight) followed by Chain Block ‘B’ as runners-up and SPSS ‘A’ in third place.

Meanwhile, HSN Fit clinched the lightweight category (560kg total weight ) title while Mengkubau United won the under-19 youth category (500kg total weight).

Prizes for the competition were presented by Permanent Secretary (Sports) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud.
