The Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) through the Jawi Studies and Kitab Turath Research Centre held a certificate presentation ceremony for the Talaqqi Kitab Turath programme at Tarbiah Hall on Sunday.
Ra’es of KUPU SB Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar presented the certificates to 67 participants who completed the 12-week programme.
Director of Jawi Studies and Kitab Turath Research Centre Azman bin Haji Kassim said the programme aimed to teach four skills included in the Kitab Turath which are Fi al-Qira’ah (reading), Fi al-Kitabah (writing), Fi al-Fahm (understanding) and Fi al-Ta’lim (teaching the Kitab Turath).
He added that the programme is part of efforts by KUPU SB to revive Kitab Turath, and inculcate a sense of love towards works conducted by Islamic scholars and serves as a reference resources in religious practice among the community. – Rokiah Mahmud
