The Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) held a religious ceremony to mark Nuzul Al-Quran at the theatre hall of the ministry’s building yesterday.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah was the guest of honour.
Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) Dato Seri Paduka Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Fiscal) Pengiran Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Zety Sufina binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Sani, permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries and heads of departments and sections and officers as well as staff under the ministry also attended.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Al-Quran verses by an officer from His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Abdul Wafit bin Haji Ibrahim, the winner of the MoFE Al-Quran Reading Competition last year.
The event also saw the minister present donations to 19 orphans of the ministry before concluding with a religious talk on ‘Al-Quran Pedomanku’ by Prisons Department Assistant Counsellor Fariszal bin Ali. – Lyna Mohamad
